We are pleased to share several significant milestones that move us one step closer to opening the doors of the City of Greer's new Sports & Events Center in 2027.
One of the most exciting recent additions is the installation of the elevated indoor walking track, which now stretches above the competition courts and provides a unique amenity for residents and visitors alike. In another major milestone, all structural steel has been completed, marking the end of one of the project's most critical phases. Crews have also begun pouring the concrete floor in the main gymnasium, laying the literal foundation for the thousands of basketballs, volleyball, and community events that will soon fill the space.
While the facility is designed to attract premier regional and national sporting events, it was always envisioned as a place built first and foremost for the Greer community.
Residents will enjoy a modern fitness center equipped for individuals of all fitness levels, offering another convenient option to stay healthy and active close to home. Golf enthusiasts will have year-round access to state-of-the-art golf simulators, allowing players to practice, compete with friends, or simply enjoy the game regardless of the weather outside.
The center will also feature a versatile event hall that will be available for community use. Whether hosting weddings, corporate meetings, banquets, birthday celebrations, nonprofit fundraisers, or civic events, this flexible space will provide a beautiful venue for gatherings of all sizes.
Combined with youth recreation programs, community events, and nationally recognized tournaments, these amenities reflect our commitment to creating a destination that serves residents every day—not just on tournament weekends.
As construction continues, we look forward to sharing additional milestones and giving our community an inside look at the facility that will soon become a centerpiece for recreation, wellness, and economic growth in Greer. The vision is becoming reality, and we can't wait to welcome everyone through the doors.
